Chopped Livah!

When will I ever learn? Too much of anything is not a good thing...including food, and especially on Thanksgiving Day. I think I'm still "stuffed"! Good grief, Charlie Brown, did you ever see so much tasty and delectible food dishes on one table? How can I resist the urge to taste just a little of EVERYTHING...well, maybe almost everything. And, it's all sooooo good that you've got to have just another little spoonful. But that's not so bad, except for the unmistakable "dressing" with all the little innards of that big bird chopped up into little itty-bitty pieces...yuk. Who ever made up the word "dressing" for all the leftover bird parts that get chopped up and mixed with heaven-knows-what, stuffed into the turkey's empty body cavity, then baked for hours and ends up served up as "dressing"? It's not dressing, it's parts. And we all know that parts is parts, no matter how you slice it. Sorry for the pun, stuffing purists...nothing personal. But there is no mistaking the tell-tale taste of liver, gizzards, and other "organic" parts of any bird. I don't care how you dress it or try to disguise it. Whether it's with dried cranberries, shiitake mushrooms, wild rice, sage, rosemary and thyme. It still tastes like chopped livah to me!
